Linguistic quality control

By effectively managing terminology our Clients can be sure that the internal company-specific terminology and/or jargon is applied in a consistent manner. Furthermore, with the use of correct terminology even legal problems can be avoided by ensuring regulatory compliance of technical terms.

The primary method to achieve this goal is the creation, maintenance and usage of a terminology database. By creating a database of approved terminology with internal product names and jargon this tool ensures the systematic use of corporate terminology. Furthermore, this database becomes a tool which ensures that all future translations are accurate and consistent.

At Logoscript, we offer a range of services to meet this need, including:

  • creation and management of a product-specific terminology database, which is expanded and update as new terms appear; this effort includes the revision of any pre-existing glossaries which identify your core terminology base, and the establishment of the single accepted translation for all key terms in each of your target languages.
  • creation of a style guide, which regulates the use of acronyms, abbreviations, upper- and lower-case letters, punctuation, verb forms, syntax, how to address the user, etc.
